Let’s Play at Strathspey

The youngsters are taking over the stage! Let’s Play at Strathspey will give the youth of the area a chance to sing, dance, read, and act for an afternoon of fun! The youth emcees- The Fluffels (Ka-Fluffel, Ina-Fluffel, Alla-Fluffel, and Mora-Fluffel) will only calm down when there is singing, so the audience, both young and young at heart should be ready to sing along! This matinee show will also highlight local children’s stories such as Muin and the Seven Bird Hunters, by Murdena Marshall, Lillian Marshall, Prune Harris, and Cheryl Bartlett.

Young actors will create on stage TR’s Adventure at Angus the Wheelers, written by Frank MacDonald and illustrated by Virginia McCoy. There will also be dancing, featuring Michelle Greenwell’s troupe, and a Gaelic skit. This family centered afternoon of entertainment will be full of fun-filled memories for all the family. This Strathspey Place Players production (a subcommittee of Strathspey Place Board of Directors supported by the Nova Scotia Department of Culture) hopes to give the young actors, singers, and dancers of Inverness County a place to shine!

Lorne Elliott

Canadian born, LORNE ELLIOTT has performed from Newfoundland to New York City, from Los Angeles to Australia and points in between. Lorne started performing in 1974 as a folk musician in East Coast Canada. At the same time he kept writing fiction as well as songs, monologues and one-liners. The outcome of such a training is a very special show of comedy and music, totally original, entertaining, up-lifting and foolish enough to make everybody laugh. Along with his unique and wacky performance style, it is the timelessness of his material, joined with keen observations of today's trends that make LORNE ELLIOTT's work so special.
