Little Lorraine
- 7:00pm

The Unama’ki / Cape Breton Film Festival kicks off with a screening of the hit movie Little Lorraine directed by Andy Hines and starring Stephen Amell, Stephen McHattie, Sean Astin, and J Balvin. Inspired by the folk song Lighthouse in Little Lorraine by Nova Scotia musician Adam Baldwin — which itself was inspired by local stories — this thrilling drama of a coastal fishing town embroiled with an international cocaine smuggling ring was filmed in Cape Breton and celebrated by audiences near and far.
This smash hit sold out theatres in Sydney for weeks. Come see it on the “big screen” right here at the Strathspey Performing Arts Centre, join in on the post-screening discussion with special guests, and be a part of the exciting launch of a new film festival.
Tickets went on sale on July 7th and are $15, plus Eventbrite fee. They are selling quickly, so don’t miss out! It’s general admission so come early for a seat! Doors open at 6 pm.
Proceeds support the new Unama’ki / Cape Breton Film Festival scheduled to take place September 25–27, 2026, at the Inverness County Centre for the Arts (ICCA). The inaugural Unama’ki / Cape Breton Film Festival will celebrate the best of local and international cinema that has meaningful connections to this island. Anchored at ICCA in Inverness, Nova Scotia, the festival will engage audiences and filmmakers in a multi-day celebration featuring film screenings, panels, workshops, and Q&A sessions.
