Exciting Season for Strathspey Performing Arts Centre
Strathspey Performing Arts Centre bid farewell to 2016 with lots of success. From unveiling a fresh new brand and website to introducing a digital marquee sign and online ticketing. Strathspey welcomed 2017 with much excitement and eager to fill the house for another year of great shows!
Leading off the events calendar, is The DJ MacGillivray show on Sunday, February 12th at 3pm. MacGillivray is a familiar face on the Strathspey stage, performing in several Grand Ole Opry tributes. Alongside MacGillivray will be musical friends Lynn Chisholm, John R. Fontaine, Cecil MacQuarrie, Urban Breen, Garrett Beaton, and Ben Dorey.
Strathspey Performing Arts Centre will set the stage for love on Valentine’s Day. The Sweetheart Soiree at Strathspey will transform the stage on February 14th into a romantic, candlelight dining experience – the perfect gift for your Valentine! Entertainment by the talented Cyril MacPhee and a delicious dinner menu by the Clove Hitch Bar & Bistro in Port Hood, with a backdrop of classic love stories playing on the big screen. Make it a date, February 14th at 7:30pm. Limited tickets available. Minimum 60 tickets must be sold for event to proceed.
On February 24th, The Phantom of The Opera: The Ballet will share the timeless story of love and the power of obsession. Performed by the Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada, this group will amaze the audience with seamless dancing, intriguing set design and flawless costumes. This show has been raved as “…an impressive flare for the dramatic” by The Globe & Mail.
On March 10th, back by popular demand is the family favourite Tohu-Bohu Productions. This company brought the Magical Christmas Journey before the Holiday season. They return to the stage this time with A Forever Frozen story.
Strathspey brought you Brìgh and Sin Agad an Dòigh, and is now branching out again. Starting on March 25th be will the Classic Concert, the first of a 6-concert series, hosted by singer-songwriter Buddy MacDonald. More details coming soon.
Strathspey Performing Arts Centre is one of many vibrant social profit (non-profit) organizations in Inverness County and continues to strive for sustainability through fundraising efforts, such as the bi-annual concert series. The 2nd Old Fashioned Scottish Super Concert is scheduled for Sunday, April 16th at 7:30pm. Stay tuned for more details.
