Jeannie Beks has been singing since she could walk. Originally from Halifax, she’s studied Music Education, taught both privately and in schools, and has performed far from her Mabou home on international stages. She’s worked with numerous groups including Thistledown and Terry Kelly. She has also recorded three albums, including her most recent: an album for which all proceeds are given to MADD Canada.
A musician on the rise from East Lake Ainslie, Cape Breton, James MacLean has been playing music for over 15 years. He works primarily with traditional Scottish tunes, but also includes other genres such as classical and bluegrass. He plans to release a solo album in the near future.
His smooth, sweet singing has propelled him to international stardom. And with more than 25 albums to his credit, he entertains audiences with a dynamite repertoire of heartfelt songs like The Band Played Waltzing Matilda, Sonny’s Dream, The Mull of Kintyre, Caledonia, The Parting Glass and Song for the Mira.
Hi, my name is Jessie Helen MacNeil. I live in Northeast Mabou with my four sisters and parents. Around home, I go swimming at our shore, play sports outside and drive our 4-wheeler around the yard. In the winter, I enjoy playing hockey with the Cape Breton West Islanders and I’m looking forward to participating in Sin Agad an Doigh!
Jordan Musycsyn is hardworking singer/songwriter, a masterful storyteller and a gripping performer. He sustains a busy touring schedule throughout Canada with his award-nominating debut album The Pitch with his sophomore album due in Fall 2016. Drawing on his own life experiences he writes about relatable songs about love, loss, and the human condition. A dynamic performer, Jordan moves the audience from laughter to tears and back again.
Jenn Sheppard has been in involved in the music industry for over 30 years’ vocalist, writer, actor, radio host, and voice actor for countless musicals, cabarets, dinner theatres, radio & television commercials, concerts and events, in and outside of Cape Breton. Recent credits include; The Anne Murray Tribute show & Happy Ha-Ha Holidays. When she’s not on stage Jenn can be found behind the scenes managing, marketing and graphic designing. She also performs regularly with the dance band High Society and is elated to be part of this year’s Revue.
